| General Information "To Ploumin" is a traditional taverna, located in the town
square of Sotira, a small farming village. It is only a 15-minute drive from the popular
tourist resorts Ayia Napa and Protaras, famed for their beautiful beaches. The major crops
grown in Sotira are the renowned "red soil" potatoes, colocassi (taro) , and
other vegetables.

"To Ploumin" occupies a traditional Cypriot stone
house, dating from the turn-of-the-century. It has been authentically restored-- with
attention to even the smallest details—over a 4 year period, 1992-1997, and is a
government listed property.
The menu features traditional Cypriot cuisine, and all the
dishes are freshly cooked each day by the owner’s mother and other local women.
Specialties include Cyprus "meze", which is a rich and varied selection of about
20 dishes, and seasonal foods, such as snails, game birds, sausages and cured meats.
Facilities include indoor and outdoor eating areas, with
seating for 100 inside and 200 outside. The restaurant can host large receptions, such as
baptisms, birthday parties, wedding receptions, etc. The owner regularly schedules
folkloric nights, with live music by local musicians. Conference luncheons and dinners can
also be accommodated.
"To Ploumin" is open daily from 5pm - midnight.
Closed on Mondays: from 31st October to 31st May.
